With the crew fully detailed, it's time actually get into Five Parsec's campaign system and dig into the world they've found themselves on.
Entering the Avernus system, the most populated world by far is Avernus Prime. That's not to say it's a bustling capital world like Necromunda. It's a little more out of the way, a little more off the beaten path. The perfect place for a rogue Inquisitor to dig up some new tech.
I had the name picked out before i created the world. Let's see if the name lived up to its reputation.
First, the world trait I ended up with is Travel Restricted. This throws a wrench in al-Nasr's plans already, as he surely would been sending out his crew members looking for exotic tech at every opportunity. But his also points to a potential plot point on the world. Who is the party responsible for keeping everyone in their local districts? Is it the planetary government instituting restrictions on voyages? Are there local forces that keep people huddled in their homes after dark? Perhaps some kind of wildlife.
In line with restricted travel, doing business on Avernus Prime is pricey! The licensing requirements were a full 6 credits, the most al-Nasr had experienced on any world he's landed on. Were he another type of Inquisitor, he could flash his rosette and have his run of the place. But that would attract a little too much attention. Luckily, his Acolyte Jalen Ren made it through the firewalls protecting the planetary database and added their crew to the list as "paid."
Rivals
Both al-Nasr and Ren have rivals on this world (or perhaps they've followed them to this world). Rolling for them, al-Nasr's rival is a Hulker Gang, which is a serious threat to the crew at the start of the campaign. Decent weaponry and a toughness off the charts will force the crew to lay low.
Ren's isn't much better. Somehow he's drawn the attention of a Souless Task Force. They're just as tough as the hulkers, but better armed and armored. The crew will certainly have to send out decoys or they're going to have trouble real quick.
Patrons
Acetl has a contact from his days with his mercenary group on Theapra, the Hands of Charon. The person, a spectacularly wealthy individual known only as Lero, has only recently arrived on Avernus Prime as well, though no one is really sure as to why.
Further details will reveal themselves as the crew gets their boots dirty. For now, Avernus Prime is an unpleasant but not inhospitable world. It has mineral and elemental weath that is being exploited by a wide range of entrepreneurs of all sizes. That means money talks, and if you're looking for any particular items, you just have to grease the right palms.
Next time, on 2nd Parsec to the Right, the crew digs into the world and starts earning their keep.
